Military leader speaks of clean up of government next month
20 NOVEMBER 2006 SUVA (Pacnews)- Fiji’s military commander Commodore Frank Bainimarama has spoken of a clean up of the Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase lead government next month.
Fiji TV reports that Commodore Bainimarama made his comments to soldiers in the western division.
Asked what this meant, Commodore Bainimarama would only say that if the government didn’t agree to the military’s requests, they had alternative plans.
Commodore Bainimarama denied suggestions there would be a coup, adding that it would be clean-up campaign.
He said the military would let the nation know of its intentions well in advance.
Commodore Bainimarama also said the military would not be meeting with the mediation committee set up by the island’ Great Council of Chiefs to solve the impasse between the government and the military….PNS (ENDS)

I really wonder what would be the difference between a "Coup" and a "Clean-Up". I guess we will just have to wait and see.
